The evening brings together local filmmakers, actors, producers, artists and creatives to connect, exchange ideas and have candid conversations about the realities of building a career and creating independent work.
The evening’s special guest is Las Vegas-based Australian filmmaker, actor and martial artist Maria Tran, hosted by filmmakers, actors and community builders Trenton Brisco and John Molinaro.
MAKING FEATURE FILMS ON MICRO-BUDGETS
Maria will share the journey behind creating the independent action Echo 8 Trilogy and how community-driven filmmaking helped bring three feature films to life:
- Echo 8 — approximately $6,500 USD
- Five By Five — approximately $18,000 USD
- Echo 8 Beyond — approximately $18,000 USD
The latter two films were made with the support of crowdfunding, collaborators and community networks.
Maria will discuss the realities of working across directing, acting, producing, editing and action filmmaking — including what worked, what didn’t, and how independent creatives can build opportunities with the resources and communities around them.
EXCLUSIVE TRAILER LAUNCH
The evening will also feature the Las Vegas launch of the new trailers for Five By Five and Echo 8 Beyond ahead of their worldwide online release later that evening.
Both films were recently named Official Selections of the 2026 Urban Action Showcase International Action Film Festival in New York, where they will screen at Regal Times Square in November.
Maria will also give attendees an early look at her next feature, One Black Night, which is being developed to be set and produced in Las Vegas.
This is an opportunity for anyone interested in film, acting, production, media and the creative industries to meet members of the local community, make new connections, exchange ideas and hear firsthand how independent films can move from an idea through production, completion and release.
